Jumbo Herd Eats Up Over 100 Piles Of Paddy In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal, Jan 3: A herd of elephants ate up on quintals of paddy at Tipilei under Surapratapur Gram Panchayat in Bhuban range area in Dhenkanal district late on Tuesday night.
Three farmers had harvested crop from five acres of land and stocked it. A jumbo herd ate up paddy kept in over 100 piles.
The sharecroppers have expressed grief over the loss of their crop.

The forest department informed that the herd of eight elephants came from Joranda and entered the Bhuban range.
