Rayagada, Feb 9: The body of an abandoned newborn girl was retrieved from some bushes near a railway over-bridge here in  Odisha on Friday.

As per reports, locals spotted a few-day-old female baby wrapped in a piece of cloth and abandoned inside a bag near the railway over-bridge and alerted the police.

After getting information,  a team of Rayagada town police station reached the spot and recovered the body.  

Police registered a case and started an investigation in this connection.
