Actor Arindam Roy Joins BJP Hours After Quitting BJD

Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: In a major jolt to Odisha's ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of 2024 general elections, Odia film actor and and BJD's State General Secretary Arindam Roy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Friday evening hours after quitting the BJD.
Roy, who was a BJD's star campaigner during several elections since 2009, joined the saffron party at a 'Misrana Parba' (Joining Ceremony) at the party's State headquarters in the presence of BJP Odisha unit president, Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders.
The actor-turned politician is the brother-in-law of BJD’s Organisational Secretary and Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das.
