Officials noted that the mela provides a direct link between tribal entrepreneurs and buyers, thereby promoting sustainable livelihoods. “The Annual Adivasi Mela has become one of the largest tribal cultural events in the state, and this year’s edition is expected to see record footfall,” said a senior official of the ST & SC Development Department.
Special attractions this year include exhibitions on tribal languages, medicinal plants, and eco-friendly crafts. Food stalls serving millet-based dishes and traditional delicacies have also become a major draw for visitors.
The mela has been a regular feature in Bhubaneswar for decades and continues to attract thousands of visitors annually. Organisers believe that the growing interest in indigenous culture and sustainable products will make the 2026 edition particularly significant.
By combining cultural preservation with economic empowerment, the Annual Adivasi Mela 2026 underscores Odisha’s vision of safeguarding tribal heritage while ensuring prosperity for its communities.
