Bhubaneswar, July 3: Senior journalist Kamalakanta Nayak was felicitated Tuesday on the occasion of World Sports Journalist Day.
JM Sports Academy, Bhubaneswar hosted the felicitation ceremony and honoured several sports journalists from various media houses.
Nayak works as an Anchor and Senior Bulletin Producer at Argus, one of the leading media houses in the state.
Nayak, who has been working as an anchor since 2012, started his professional journalism career at Sambad -- one of the leading odia dailies. During his more-than-a-decade long professional career, he has worked for ETVOdia, News18 Odia, NewsWorld Odisha and Nandighosh before joining Argus News. He also contributes to wikipedia articles.

✨Kamalakanta was born on July 28, 1989 to Upendra Nath Nayak and Prativa Nayak. A native from Chahatanagar in Cuttack, Nayak lives in Bhubaneswar. He has been married to Chinmayee Arpita and the couple has a daughter.
Social worker Dr Santosh Jena was present in the ceremony as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Bhawani Rath and Cine Producer Atish Kumar Rout. JM Sports Academy Chairperson Mirarani Das also graced the occasion, along with other academy officials -- Secretary Jashobanta Das and Legal Advisor Subrat Mohapatra.
The JM Sports Academy is giving gymnastics training since 2013. The academy has also played host to several national level competitions, while many of its athletes have won medals in various national and state level events.
