Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak, aka Tutu Nayak, has been arrested by Kharvelnagar Police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly assaulting a woman journalist, informed ACP Manas Gadnayak on Saturday.

Ollywood film producer Tutu Nayak allegedly slapped journalist Debasmita Rout, a reporter at electronics media, yesterday when she was reporting near Sriya-Swati cinema halls in the city.

Later, the woman journalist lodged a complaint against Tutu Nayak at the Kharvelnagar Police Station, Bhubaneswar in this regard.

The incident sparked a widespread outrage among people, and multiple FIRs were lodged at different police stations in Odisha, particularly in western parts of the state, against film producer Tutu Nayak.

Earlier in the day, members of Odisha Women in Media (OWM) called on Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and submitted a memorandum demanding a fair probe in this connection.
