Balasore, Jan 18: An eight-membered robber gang was arrested by police, informed Balasore SP Sagarika Nath in a press meet today.  

According to the information, the gang had attempted to loot a SBI ATM near Remuna Durgadebi square in Balasore on January 4.

They also tried to rob an ATM in Mayurbhanj district on January 6. 

After a frantic search by a joint team set up by Sadar SDPO and Nilagiri SDPO nabbed the gang. However, one of them managed to escape the scene.

Police seized a gas cutter, knife, cylinder, black spray and eight mobile phones from the accused. The gang has a criminal record in their name in many police stations.
