Cuttack, Feb 9: Vigilance sleuths caught an accountant of the Puri Block Education Officer's office while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 this morning. 

The accountant has been identified as Bikash Kumar Senapati. 

According to the sources, Senapati had demanded bribe from a retired teacher to issue a NOC for the release of his gratuity. 

The retired teacher informed the Vigilance department and Senapati was caught red-handed while taking bribe. 

The entire bribe amount has been recovered and seized from the possession of Senapati. 

Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case against the accused accountant.
