Puri, June 14: In a shocking incident, two persons were killed and over 10 persons sustained critical injuries as a pickup van carrying them overturned at Jagannathpur under the Kakatpur police station limits this morning.
The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to the information, a pickup van carrying betel farmers was en route from Astaranga to Pipili when the driver lost control of its wheels, leading to the mishap. Police along with locals rescued the injured and rushed them to the Kakaput PHC where two of them were declared dead. Some of the injured are stated to be in critical condition.
