Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Fire mishaps occured at as many as 17 places in the capital city here during Diwali celebrations last night. 

Many houses, trees, dumpyards and slum dwellings have been gutted in the fire.

The fire brigade reached the spots in time and extinguished the blaze, said Abanikant Swain, official of fire department.

In another instance, an electric vehicle (eV) caught fire while charging at Chandrasekharpur. Four eVs got burnt in the fire accident. The Chandrasekharpur fire department extinguished the fire.
