Sambalpur, Mar 15: In a road mishap, BJD MP Prasanna Acharya sustained critical injuries after his car met with an accident with a gas tanker near Redhakhol area in Sambalpur district last night.

According to the information, the accident took place late on Thursday night when Acharya was returning to Bargarh from Bhubaneswar. A gas tanker coming from the opposite direction collided with his car, causing the accident. 

The PSO of BJD MP is also critical while the driver of the car sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Acharya along with his PSO were rushed to a private hospital in Sambalpur after undergoing first-aid treatment.

Meanwhile, police have detained the driver of the truck for questioning.
