Puri, Feb 17: Tension ran high in Puri district's Gop area as BJP activists gheraoed the Gop police station in protest against the attack on them by 'goons' deployed by local MLA and former Minister Samir Dash.
The BJP activists demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers.
"Goons of MLA Samir Dash attacked BJP workers in the presence of the MLA. The police didn't even stop them. In the incident BJP Yuva Morcha president was critically injured," rued the protestors.

✨Alleging that police are being used by the ruling party leaders, the BJP protestors burnt effigy of MLA Dash.
In the attack, Gop BJP Yuva Morcha president Shiba Prasad Swain was critically injured. He has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
On a complaint filed by BJP activist Santosh Kumar Samantaray, the Gop police has registered a case.
