Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: BJP Bhubaneswar district president Babu Singh Thursday alleged that the Odisha government has committed a big scam in the purchase of saplings for Bhubaneswar and other parts of the State.
Singh said the government bought saplings from nurseries of other States at higher prices and spent Rs 7 crore in planting saplings in Bhubaneswar. He said the State government spent Rs 12,000 per sapling which indicates the volume of scams in sapling purchases.
He demanded that the State government, 5-T, Forest Department, BDA, BMC, and OMC should clarify to the public what sapling cost them Rs 12, 000.
Singh alleged that scams of Rs 5,900 crore in CAMPA fund, Rs 6000 crore in OMBADC, and Rs 150 crore in Mahanadi Green Mission have been committed by the Odisha government. Besides, a large amount of money has been bungled from the DMF Fund for the purchase of saplings, alleged Singh.
