Nuapada, Jan 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party received support from common people for its eight-hour bandh held here against the Odisha government's lackadaisical attitude to farmers of the district.
During the shutdown held from 6 am to 2 pm, BJP activists moved in rallies and shouted slogans against the Odisha government's anti-farmer policy and persistent problems in paddy procurement and lack of irrigation facilities.
Shops and bazaars remained closed at Khariar, Sinapali, and Boden block.
