Khordha, July 6: Vigilance sleuths Saturday caught Bolgarh block Junior Engineer Nrusingha Charan Pradhan red-handed while taking Rs 19,200 as a bribe from a contractor to pass his bill against a building constructed on the MP LAD fund at Gabadi village in Khanguria gram panchayat this morning. 

The Vigilance team comprising officials from Bhubaneswar and Nayagary caught the JE while the contractor gave the bribe amount to him. Earlier the contractor had informed Vigilance about the JE's illegal bribe demand. Accordingly, the Vigilance officers planned to trap him. 

Vigilance sleuths seized all chemicalized notes from the JE during the raid. 

After nabbing, Vigilance teams conducted searches in the JE's official residence at Bolgarh and parental house at Deogarh. The anti-corruption officials reportedly found Rs 2,19,900 in Pradhan's official residence. 

Searches were still on.
