Cold Wave Grips Odisha, Ten Places Record Below 10 Degree Celsius

The cold wave continues to sweep across Odisha with the mercury dipping to below 10 degrees Celsius in 10 places in the state, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: The cold wave continues to sweep across Odisha with the mercury dipping to below 10 degrees Celsius in 10 places in the state, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
According to the IMD, G Udaygiri in Kandhamal district and Kirei in Sundergarh district were the coldest places in the State with minimum temperature recorded at 8 degree Celsius.
The other places where the temperature registered below 10 degree Celsius include Koraput at 8.6 degree Celsius, Keonjhar, Daringbadi, Phulbani and Angul at 9 degree Celsius, Ranital in Bhadrak district at 9.6 degree Celsius followed by Sundergarh and Rourkela at 9.8 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also continued to be in the grip of cold wave conditions with minimum temperature hovering around 13 degree Celsius for the third consecutive day. Both cities recorded a temperature of 13.5 degree Celsius.
There will be no large change in minimum temperature (Night temperature) at many places in the State during the next 4-5 days, the IMD added.
