Bhubaneswar, June 4: The BJP's long fight to form a double-engine government in Odisha is poised to be true as the current trend of results shows BJP is well ahead of the BJD in garnering votes in both Lok Sabha and Assembly seats. 

According to the result-trend by 10.30 am, out of 94 Assembly segments so far, the Bharatiya Janata Party was leading in 50, followed by the BJD in 35 seats, Congress in seven, and others in two seats. 

Since the beginning of vote-counting , the trend has remained in favour of the saffron party.  

In Lok Sabha, the BJP was leading in over two-third of seats. Out of 21 seats, the BJP was leading in 17 seats, while the BJD was ahead in mere two seats. 

With the trend going in favour of the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion that the ruling BJD's expiry date is June 4 is nearing to be true.
