Dharmendra Pradhan Launches 'Project ODISERV' At GM University in Sambalpur

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday launched the Project ODISERV, a skill training programme for youths, at Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur, Odisha.

Sambalpur, Mar 1: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday launched the Project ODISERV, a skill training programme for youths, at Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur, Odisha.

The skill training programme was launched  in collaboration with Bajaj Finance and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said, "Project ODISERV, a perfect example of industry-academia collaboration,  is a 100 hours training program that will equip the youth of Odisha with crucial skills required for the banking, finance and insurance industry."

"The training program will boost competencies, increase employability of youths of Odisha and prepare a future-ready workforce for the banking and financial services sector," he added.

Pradhan also mentioned that the New Education Policy (NEP 2020), as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is bridging the gap between education and skilling, creating more synergies and allowing students to acquire job-ready skills along with academic knowledge.

"I am glad that as many as 1100 students in Odisha have already been trained under Project ODISERV and a few of them have also received job offers today. I extend my congratulations to all those who have been placed today. I am confident Project ODISERV will empower our youth, make them more employable and fulfil their aspirations," the Minister said.

Bajaj Finance CMD Sanjiv Bajaj, CEO of NSDC Ved Mani Tiwari and officials of the Education Ministry were, among others, present on the occasion.
