Farmer Ends Life Due To Crop Loss In Balangir Village!

Balangir, Dec 17: In what can be termed as a threat to the agriculture sector, a farmer committed suicide by consuming poison in Binekela village under the Titlagarh police station limits in Balangir district.
The deceased farmer has been identified as Chamaru Bag.
"Due to insufficient rains, the crops were damaged. Chamaru was under pressure as he had incurred loans to undertake cultivation work," said a family member of the deceased.

The family member said Chamaru had taken loans from different sources for growing crops. The scanty rains had worried him. He took the extreme step in life because of the debt burden, the family member said.
Police have seized the body and started an investigation.
