Former Gunupur MLA Trinath Gomango Joins BJP

Former Gunupur MLA Trinath Gomango joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on Friday.

Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Ahead of the 2024 elections to Lok Sabha and Odisha State Assembly, former Gunupur MLA Trinath Gomango joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in Odisha on Friday.

Gomango, a former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA from Gunpur in Rayagada district, joined the saffron party at a 'Misrana Parba' (Joining Ceremony) at the party's State headquarters in the presence of BJP Odisha unit president, Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders.

Samal welcomed  Gomango to the BJP and said the former MLA would strengthen the saffron party in Rayagada district.

Gomango was elected to the Assembly from the Gunpur constituency in 2014 on a BJD ticket.

Besides Gomango, several other leaders from different political parties and many social activists joined the BJP today.

According to political pundits, BJP’s popularity graph in Odisha has been rising day by day.

As many as three sitting BJD MLAs- Pradeep Panigrahi, Prashant Jagdev and Arabinda Dhali- joined the BJP recently. Several  former BJD legislators also switched sides in the last few weeks.
