Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: Former Laxmipur MLA Kailas Kulesika joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at a special programme at the party head officer here today. BJP State president welcomed him to the party in the presence of other leaders.  

Kulesika resigned from the BJD after the party named Prabhu Jani as the candidate from the Laxmipur seat yesterday. 

Expressing discontentment, Kulesika said the BJD betrayed him by depriving him of contesting from the assembly segment. Though he worked a lot, the BJD broke all his dreams, he said. 

"Survey report was in my favour. But the party didn't give me the ticket," he rued and asserted that BJD candidate (Prabhu Jani) will be defeated by over 29,000 votes in the ensuing election.
