The Orissa High Court has directed the Puri Municipality to give Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the family of a four-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a group of stray dogs in Puri town in 2016. 

Cuttack, Dec 13: The Orissa High Court has directed the Puri Municipality to give Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the family of a four-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a group of stray dogs in Puri town in 2016. 

According to the information, some stray dogs had severely beaten severly while he was playing alone on the road in front of his house in Jagannath Colony in 2016. He was severely injured in his neck and head. Later, he was declared dead in the hospital. 

Later, family members approached the High Court seeking action against the Puri Municipality and compensation.
