Jagatsinghpur, Jan 14: A crew member of a ship attempted to end life by jumping from a ship soon after a huge amount of cocaine was seized from him at Paradip port in Jagatsingpur district this morning. 

The victim has been admitted to Paradip Hospital in a critical condition. He has been identified as Bui Kong Hu, a citizen of Vietnam. 

According to information,   Bui Kong Hu along with 21 others was detained and interrogated by police. He tried to commit suicide after going outside on the plea of urination. The ship had come to take goods of PICT Company. 

The Customs Department seized cocaine worth Rs 200 crore from the ship on December 1, 2023. The ship has also been seized by the department.
