Bhubaneswar, Feb 7: Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh took oath as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Wednesday. Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath of office to Singh at a special ceremony today.

Justice Singh’s name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium to the Central Government for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court following the retirement of Chief Justice Subhasis Talapatra on October 3, 2023.

Born on January 20, 1963, Justice Singh obtained his LLB degree from Delhi University. He was enrolled at the Bar in 1990 and practiced at the High Court of Judicature at Patna, dealing with constitutional, service, criminal, and arbitration matters.

Later, he worked as a judge of the High Court of Judicature at Patna on April 5, 2012.

He has also served as the Additional Advocate General for Bihar for 22 years.

He will retire in January, 2025.
