Phulbani, Dec 3: In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly killed his sister after subjecting her gang-raped by his three friends in a village in Kandhamal district a month back. All four accused persons have been arrested.
The ghastly act occurred in Liagada village of Chahali gram panchayat under Chakapada police station limits yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Puspanjali Bhoi (25).
According to the information, Puspanjali's brother Paresh Bhoi filed a complaint with the local police with an allegation that his sister Puspanjali was missing. However, the police found that the Paresh in association with three others had raped her and then killed her. They dumped the body in a jungle.
The other three accused persons are Tuna Bhoi, Chandramani Bhoi, and Bimala Nayak. After interrogation, they have been forwarded to the court, said a source quoting police.
Sources said Paresh had planned to kill Puspanjali after she opposed his illicit relationship with his sister-in-law. While Puspanjali was staying with her father, Paresh was residing separately along with his wife and sister-in-law in the same village.

✨Pusapanjali had gone to a nearby jungle to collect dry leaves on November 3. At that time, Paresh had also gone to that jungle to graze cattle. Finding her alone, Paresh called her friends there. While the three friends raped her in turn, Paresh strangulated her to death. Later, they hid the body in a stone hole. Police revealed this after an investigation.
Paresh lodged the missing complaint on November 6. Acting on her complaint, the Chakapada police conducted an investigation and located the body.
The postmortem report revealed that Puspanjali was gang-raped and then strangulated to death. Police found Paresh and three others to be ofenders and arrested them yesterday.
