Koraput: 3 Women Labourers Killed In Landslide

Koraput, June 15: In a shocking incident, three young women labourers lost their lives due to a landslide in Mangala Temple mountain near Kolab Dam under Badakerenga Panchayat in Koraput.
The incident took place reportedly during illegal smuggling of soil. The women were crushed to death when the soil collapsed while digging murram.
In the presence of Pramod Kumar Naik, the officer in charge of Koraput Sadar Police and Ganesh Behera, the officer of Badakerenga Fandi, three young women were rescued with the help of ODRAF team and fire brigade team.
However, two women lost their lives on the spot, while the other women died while she was carried to Koraput District Headquarter Hospital.

✨According to the information provided by the police, all three women -- Sanmati Jani, Champa Badnayak and Purni Jani -- were 18 and native of Salmanguda village under Badakerenga Panchayat.
Local MLA Raghuram Machha and sub-Collector Benudhar Sabar rushed to the spot following the incident and offered condolences to families of the deceased.
