Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The twin cities received light rain, adding chill to the weather this morning.

The regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted light to moderate rain for different districts of Odisha for the next three days.

As per the prediction of the weather department, light to moderate rain very likely to continue till 8:30 Am of January 26.

Light rainfall may occur at one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Kalahandi . 

While the night temperatures were higher than normal in many places of the state during the last 24 hours, the difference between the day and nighttime temperatures is less and it feels colder.

Jharsuguda recorded a maximum day temperature of 18.2°C, Sambalpur 18.7°C, and Rourkela 19.6°C due to cloudy weather on Tuesday.

The weather office has forecast that foggy conditions during morning hours will continue in some districts of the state till Thursday and the weather is likely to change from Friday. It has also predicted that the night temperature is likely to drop by 2°C to 3°C in the state during the next three days.
