Bolangir, Nov 6: The Bolangir police arrested 14 fraudsters on the charge of duping farmers of lakhs of rupees in Bolangir district. 

According to information, miscreants used to use the land lease of the farmers and gave false information in their name and in the name of their family members taking huge amounts of money. 

In the areas like Patnagarh, Belpada, Sindhkela, Kantbanji, Tureikela, and Muribahal in Balangir district, they have allegedly cheated the farmers by taking loans under the Prime Minister's Insurance scheme, the police said. 

So far, irregularities in loans amounting to Rs 10 crore have occurred. 

All the injured persons have been forwarded to the court. 

On the other hand, the police seized 7 laptops, 10 computers, printers, 16 mobiles, and many papers used by them for illegal work. However, as the investigation continues, the police have said more people and some farmers are also involved.
