Bargarh, Mar 12: The Bargarh police have arrested the main accused in the Bharat Finance loot case. The arrested has been identified as Ganesh Sathua. 

While it was alleged that Ganesh Sathua and the employees of Bharat Finance looted more than Rs 2.5 lakh by taking the fingerprints of hundreds of women, the police didn't take any action. However, Ganesh was arrested after the matter was broadcast in the Argus News many times.

According to the complaints, loans were taken in locals' names fraudulently by Sathua and his associates by cunningly taking their fingertips. A total of Rs 2.49 crore has been looted away from the finance company. 

In many villages like Remanda, Dhareitikra, Baghpali etc. of Veden Block, loans have been made in the name of many women without their knowledge. So they are now ineligible to get loans from any other organization. The Bharat Finance, located at Veden, has raised around Rs 4.5 crore by creating fake loan accounts.

Ganesh had taken signatures and fingerprints from these women by promising them to give government loans. While some women didn't agree, Ganesh had told them that they would be excluded from the Government list all the time if they didn't take the "granted loans". 

During interrogation, Ganesh Sathua conceded to having adopted the above tricks and looted the loan money.

He said Suraj Pradhan of Remanda village, Kamal Kumar Mashti and Sushant Mahakud of Pathamahul village of Sonpur district's Birmaharajpur block were his associates.
