Malkangiri, Jan 30: The Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday raided the residents and office of a Junior Engineer (JE) of the Water Resources Department, C.A.D division in Malkangiri district on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. 

Simultaneous searches were conducted on the properties linked to Sanjay Kumar Mohanty by the Vigilance officials at seven places in Khordha (Bhubaneswar), Balasore and Malkangiri districts. 

An additional SP, three DSPs, eight inspectors, eight ASIs and other staff were part of the raid.

After learning about the irregularities and receiving complaints against Mohanty, the Vigilance sleuths conducted raid on his properties.

According to the sources, the vigilance sleuths verified some documents at Mohanty's residence in Malkangiri. 
The raids were also carried out at his in-law’s house in Bhubaneswar’s Pokhariput.

As per initial reports, around Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand has been seized from his residence in Malkangiri and the raids are still underway.
