Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attacked his former girlfriend with a sharp weapon on the road after she refused to accompany him.

The victim sustained a severe injury on her neck and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to reports, the accused confronted the woman and tried to force her to go with him. When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her, inflicting a severe injury on her neck. Following the attack, the victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital.

However, the accused fled the scene but was chased and apprehended by Chandrasekharpur Police from Bhubaneswar railway station.

The accused, identified as Tinku Gurung of Darjeeling, has been taken into custody and further investigation into the matter is underway.

Police have registered a case against the accused persons under relevant Section of IPC.

The brutal attack has sparked concern among locals, highlighting the need for stronger measures to ensure women’s safety in public spaces.

Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against the accused, and the victim is receiving all necessary medical care.
