Kendrapara, May 9: A man died after he was struck by lightning in Kendrapara district, while working on his farm on wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified ad Banmali Mallick(55), son of Pradeep Mallick, was a resident of Argal village of Auli block in kendrapara district. He went in the afternoon to work in his field.

According to reports, the lightning strike occurred around 5 pm. when Malick did not return home in the evening. His family members went to search for him in the fields. They found him in an unconscious state and rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Keeping in view, IMD has issued an orange warning in the state. It has advised people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and lightning strikes.
