Bhadrak, Nov 21: Additional District Judge Ashish Kumar Tripathy has sentenced a man accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5, 000 on him after convicting him in a murder case.
The convict, Arun Moharana, would undergo rigorous imprisonment for another period of six months if he failed to pay the fine amount, ordered the ADJ.
According to the judgment, Aruna Moharana alias Bangu, son of Purendra Moharana of Mirzapur village under Bhadrak district's Dhamnagar police station limits was an autorickshaw driver. On May 26, 2018, he drove his auto into a motorcycle following which the biker, Ajaya Parida, fell on the ground. Soon, Aruna attacked him with a sharp weapon. Ajaya died on the spot.

✨Acting on a complaint filed by Ajaya's father Arjun Parida, the Dhamnagar police conducted an investigation and arrested and court-forwarded the accused.
Aruna was convicted in the case following a thorough investigation.
