Man Killed Over Suspicions Of Practising Witchcraft In Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Jan 11: A 55-year old man was killed in a village in Odisha's Malkangiri district for allegedly practising witchcraft, police said on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Laxma Kabasi, a  resident of Tandapalli village under Malkangiri Model Police Station limits.
According to police sources, two persons of the same village killed Laxma by slitting his throat with a blade, suspecting him of practising black magic. They later threw his body into the nearby Sabari River.  

Police arrested the accused duo- Mura Padiami and his brother Mukund Padiami in this connection.

Mura's wife, Waghe Padiami, died in December last year, while his mother and grandfather had passed away around two years ago. He suspected that Kabasi had performed black magic spells leading to the death of his family members, police said.
