Newborn Stolen From Govt Hospital In Balasore

 

Balasore, Apr 4: An unidentified miscreant allegedly stole a newborn baby boy from the District Headquarters Hospital, Balasore in Odisha on Thursday.

According to sources, a seven-day old boy, son of Susanta Barik from Baliapal area, was allegedly stolen from the maternity ward of the State-run hospital when the infant was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with jaundice.

Susanta's wife delivered the baby boy at the government hospital seven days ago. Later, the baby boy was diagnosed with jaundice following which he was undergoing treatment at the maternity ward of the hospital, sources said.

The family members complained that lack of security arrangements in the hospital has led to the incident.

The incident has brought the hospital administration under the scanner, locals said. 

After getting information,  Balasore Sadar Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
