Bhubaneswar, Apr 6: The Odisha government has announced the formation of an independent development council for tribal-dominated districts. This council aims to preserve tribal culture, promote traditions, and ensure local development. The names of chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the new committees have been declared. In total, the council will function across 23 districts of the state. The chosen representatives will directly engage at the grassroots level to understand tribal issues. They will also monitor and oversee development-oriented activities in these regions.

An independent development council (SDC) has been announced for 23 districts of Odisha. For Koraput district, Bhagaban Muduli has been named Chairman and Sukanti Majhi as Vice-Chairperson. In Malkangiri district, Gangadhar Sodi will serve as Chairman and Sabitri Padhiami as Vice-Chairperson. For Keonjhar district, Mamita Nayak has been appointed Chairman and Manas Kumar Nayak as Vice-Chairperson. In Mayurbhanj district,
Dr. Buddhan Murmu will lead as Chairman with Kaushalya Nayak as Vice-Chairperson. For Nabarangpur district, Basanti Majhi has been chosen as Chairman and Trinath Bhatra as Vice-Chairperson. In Angul district, Basishtha Nayak will serve as Chairman and Surumuni Chhatar as Vice-Chairperson.

For Balangir district, Ballav Dharua has been appointed Chairman and Jayanti Bhoi as Vice-Chairperson. For Balasore district, Bipin Marandi will serve as Chairman and Jharana Singh as Vice-Chairperson. In Bargarh district, Gobardhan Bhoi has been named Chairman and Tilattoma Bhue as Vice-Chairperson. For Boudh district, Damru Dhar Kahnar will lead as Chairman and Jharana Jani as Vice-Chairperson.

In Deogarh district, Prashant Behera has been appointed Chairman and Pramila Kishan as Vice-Chairperson. For Dhenkanal district, Nauri Singh will serve as Chairman and Sebati Bhoi as Vice-Chairperson. In Gajapati district, Kamadev Baranayak has been named Chairman and Pankajini Dalai as Vice-Chairperson. For Ganjam district, Nilamadhab Patra will serve as Chairman and Lalita Pradhan as Vice-Chairperson. In Jajpur district, Rajendra Kandulia has been appointed Chairman and Shani Jarika as Vice-Chairperson. For Jharsuguda district, Samal Nayak will lead as Chairman and Sanyukta Oram as Vice-Chairperson. In Kalahandi district, Bijay Dishari has been named Chairman and Reena Bhoi as Vice-Chairperson. For Kandhamal district, Managobind Pradhan will serve as Chairman and Kalpana Kahnar as Vice-Chairperson.

In Nayagarh district, Trinath Mallik has been appointed Chairman and Samita Dehuri as Vice-Chairperson. For Nuapada district, Eng Homes Singh Majhi will serve as Chairman and Belmati Majhi as Vice-Chairperson. In Rayagada district, Bidyadhar Sabar has been named Chairman and Manjula Miniaka as Vice-Chairperson. For Sambalpur district, Bhagirindra Kishan will lead as Chairman and Sushma Munda as Vice-Chairperson. In Sundargarh district, Santosh Kumar Amat has been appointed Chairman and Gangi Kindo as Vice-Chairperson.

This isn't a post only but a responsibility. For the workers, it is an important responsibility. The names of Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons in the districts have been announced. Being all-pervasive and all-inclusive is the work of our party. This announcement has been made before April 14. Our party’s goal is to develop Odisha by involving every individual, said Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
