Dhenkanal, Feb 23: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan released a commemorative postage stamp on revolutionary freedom fighter and leader of Praja Mandal movement, Sarangadhar Das here in Odisha on Friday.
The Union Minister also dedicated 23 post offices to the public in Dhenkanal and Angul districts of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister recalled the contributions of Sarangadhar Das and other leaders of Praja Mandal movement in the region.
"Dhenkanal district is a civilized and culturally accomplished region. Sarangadhar Das, who is known as Gadajata Gandhi, Martyr Baji Rout, Veer Vaishnab Charan Patnaik, Mahesh Chandra Subahu Singh, Pabitra Mohan Pradhan and King Somnath Singh Jagaddev are the pride of our region. We should give due respect to our forefathers," Pradhan said.
"Today, the commemorative postage stamp on revered Sarangadhar Das, an iconic legend of sacrifice and service, will play an important role in conveying his thoughts and values to the new generations," he added.

Earlier in the day, Pradhan inaugurated a Skill India Centre (SIC) in Dhenkanal district and asserted that it will strengthen the skill development landscape of the region.
The Minister said the centre will fulfil aspirations, empower citizens, particularly youths, and make them future-ready.
