Remuneration Of ASHA Workers Hiked In  Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: The Odisha Government on Thursday announced to hike remuneration and retirement benefit of the Accredited Social Health Activists of Odisha. 

Their salary has been hiked to Rs 7,000 from the current Rs 4,500. 

This hike will benefit the 49,522 ASHA workers of the state. For this the state government will now spend Rs 248.57 crores on a yearly basis.

Apart from this Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik has also announced the hike of their retirement benefit from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. For this the state government was spending Rs 59.43 crores but now the expenses of the state government will rise to Rs 208 crores.
