Parlakhemundi MLA Writes To CM To Declare Gajapati As Drought-Prone

Looking at plight of the farmers, Paralakhemundi MLA K.Narayana Rao wrote a letter to Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Pattnaik. Rao has requested CM to declare the Gajapati district as drought-prone area.
Gajapati, Nov 1: The conditions of paddy peasants in Kashinagar, Gosani and Gumma block in Gajapati district is in a pitiful state. They are dependent completely on rain for cultivation, due to lack of water sources for irrigation purposes.
In the last two months, the rate of precipitation was not sufficient for agriculture. This resulted in drought in the area. Before reaping the paddy, the crops got damaged.
