Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: The Narendra Modi Government at the Centre has doled out support of over Rs 2200 crore to Deogarh people by way of PMAY houses, free rice, toilet, LPG connection under Ujjwala scheme, old-age pension, support to WSHGs and MGNREGA jobs to 73,717 people in its 10 years of rule, claimed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday.

Pradhan, who is the BJP candidate for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, campaigned hugely at Tileibani in Deogarh district today. He said the Modi government gave support of an average of Rs 3 lakh per family in the district under the 'Garib Kalyan Yojana'.

At the outset, Pradhan moved in a motorcycle rally, participated by hundreds of common people and supporters, from the BJP office at Deogarh to Siddheswar Temple at Tileibani Nikitimal. On his arrival, he paid obeisance to Lord Siddheswar. Later he addressed a massive public meeting at Tileibani where he said women and youth masses have support for the BJP. Deogarh has witnessed developmental changes since the period of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Vihari Vajpayee.. Support of over Rs 2200 crore has been given for development in Deogarh during the Modi government, he said.

Detailing the Modi Government's support to the district, Pradhan said rice of Rs 578 crore has been given to 2.63 lakh beneficiaries in the district. Rs 223 crore for construction of 17,000 PMAY houses, Rs 91 crore for construction of 35,165 toilets, Rs 3.28 crore for Ujjwala connections made to 20, 529 beneficiaries have been provided,

Besides, 354.88 crore was provided and 1.28 crore man days created under the MGNREGA scheme. Rs 554 crore was provided to 1.39 crore people under the MUDRA scheme. Rs 2.56 crore was provided to make tribal youths entrepreneurs. Similarly, Rs 2.32 crore was given to roadside vendors under the Swanidhi Yojana. Loans of Rs 234 crore were provided to Women Self Help Groups. Rs 145 crore was given as pension to 16,700 old-age, widow and persons with disabilities. Rs 5.2 crore was given towards distribution of 4.19 lakh LED bulbs.

Alleging that the amount of money sent by the Modi government bungled midway by the State government, Pradhan said Odisha needs a double-engine government (BJP government both at the Centre and the State) for development of the State.  

He said the BJP, if voted to power in the State, would provide PMAY houses to all eligible beneficiaries and increase paddy MSP to Rs 3100 per quintal. The problem of potable drinking water will be resolved.

He urged people to vote for Narendra Modi so that a pro-poor double-engine government can be formed in Odisha.

People welcomed Pradhan at different places during the rally. He sought blessings from them to elect Modi as Prime Minister for the third time.

He said the Modi Guarantee has changed the lifestyle of people belonging to all categories. The BJP is committed to making Odisha a Viksit State, he asserted.
