Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: In a case of duping Rs 40 crore, a couple has been detained by the Nayapalli police in Bhubaneswar. 
Alluring customers with heavy discounts, Akshay Gouda and his wife Usharani Barik had duped Rs 40 crore in the name of Maa Khanduapat Automobiles. 

He would attract customers with fake offers like clearance sales upto 50% on cars. He had offers like a car worth Rs 10 lakh is available for Rs 6 lakh, a car worth Rs 18 lakh is available for Rs 9 lakh. 

According to his schemes, many companies have collaborated with Maa Khanduapat Pvt Ltd for this clearance sale. 

He hired some people to speak that they bought cars with such discount offers.

According to information, besides the couple, their team consisted of three others including one Sibaram Gouda. 

Multiple complaints against him has been registered in multiple police stations like Pahala, Nayapalli, Khandagiri, Laxmisagar and Capital police station.
