Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: The Laser scanning of the outer walls of the Ratna Bhandar of the Srimandir will begin today. The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) will do the scanning.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief Ranjan Kumar Das said the ASI had been given permission to do laser scanning of the Ratna Bhandar. Based on the ASI's report, the next decision will be taken in a positive way, he said.

According to the order of the High Court, a team of 17 people came to check the condition of the Ratnabhandar's walls and roof in 2018, but they couldn't do it as the keys to the treasure house were not found then. Since then, the issue of the loss of keys has fuelled discussions against the Odisha government's 'reluctance' to open Ratna Bhandar.
