Revenue Inspector Caught Taking Rs 5000 Bribe In Ganjam

Berhampur, Mar 6: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended a Revenue Inspector (RI) under Jagannath Prasad Tahasil and a private person in Odisha's Ganjam district, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5000 from a complainant.
The accused RI has been identified as Pramod Kumar Behera. The private person , identified as Bidyadhar Pradhan, was also nabbed on charges of graft.
Today, Sri Pramod Ku Behera, Revenue Insp, J.N Prasad Circle, #Ganjam along with Sri Bidyadhar Pradhan (Private Person) has been apprehended by #Odisha #Vigilance for taking bribe of Rs. Rs.5000/-from a Complt for demarcation of a plot recorded in the name of his grandfather.

According to official sources, Behera and Pradhan had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant for demarcation of a plot recorded in the name of his grandfather.
However, the complainant approached the Vigilance officials and sought action against the accused official.
On the basis of complaint, the anticorruption agency laid a trap and caught the RI and the private person while receiving the bribe money.

✨The entire bribe amount was reportedly seized from the possession of the accused RI in the presence of witness.
Following the trap, the Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids at various locations associated with the accused RI to unearth alleged disproportionate assets (DA) amassed by him, officials said.
A case has been registered under Section 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, at the Berhampur Vigilance police station in this connection and further investigation is in progress against the accused, they added.
