Six People Injured In Mad Jackal Attack In Bhadrak

At least six people were injured after being bitten by a mad jackal in Talamuduka village of Shyamsundarpur gram panchayat under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district in the last two days. 

Bhadrak, Jan 3: At least six people were injured after being bitten by a mad jackal in Talamuduka village of Shyamsundarpur gram panchayat under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district in the last two days. 

All the injured persons have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Bhadrak.

According to the information, a jackal entered the village and bit a small boy first. Then the jackal bit a woman as she fell on the ground while running to escape its attack. 

Subsequently, the wild animal bit four others on the field and the pond in the village end while they had gone to attend nature's call and clean themselves. It also bit a calf.

The injured have been identified as Dhuni Mallik, Kamalakanta Das, Umamani Barik, Sarbeswar Khillar, Bishwanath Mallick, and Jayanti Mallick.   

Informed, local MLA Suryabanshi Suraj rushed to the DHH and talked to the injured persons. He enquired about the health condition of the injured. 

Besides, the MLA also talked to forest officials and asked them to take appropriate measures so that such incidents don't occur again.
