Srimandir Natamandap Repair To Begin Today

Puri, Feb 23: The Srimandir Natamandap (dancing hall) repair work to commence from today informed the Sree Jagannath Temple Authorities (SJTA) on Friday.
As per Orissa High Court's order Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has been entrusted the work of repairing the Natamandap. The work is to extend till March 19. The decision for the repair work of the Natamandap was taken in the Chhatisa Nijog meeting on February 21.
However, many hurdles are coming up in the way.
With the Banakalagi ritual being delayed, all the subsequent rituals have been delayed. It is being assumed that this in most likeliness will delay the Natamandap construction work also.
The Srimandir servitors have expressed their disappointment and demanded compensation. They have also expressed their displeasure over the delay of all the rituals.

✨To support the main beam of the Nata Mandap, a supporting platform will be erected, in which four stainless beams will be attached.

Along with the main beam, the pockets (thanaa) in the Nata Mandap will also be prepared.
During the repair work, the fire flames may affect the devotees in the temple, for which how special attention can be provided will be discussed in the meeting today.
On this occasion, along with the Chhatisa Nijoga staff, senior servitors and members of the management committee will also be present.
