Dhenkanal, Apr 29: As many as 78 people including students and teachers were injured in the bee attack at Sapua Dam in Baligorada under Kamakhyanagar police station limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday morning.

According to the information, 80 students of Sanskar Public School had gone to the Sapua Dam for a summer camp. At that time, a swarm of bees attacked a group of students at the dam leaving them injured.

All injured students were admitted to  kamakhyanagar sub-divisional hospital for immediate treatment. Eight students were critically injured and were under observation.

However, it is pertinent to mention that Odisha Govt has declared summer vacation from May 25 but Sanskar Public School has not followed the rule and orginised the summer camp for which students and teachers have been attacked by bees.
