Tech Aid For Pilgrims As ‘Shree Jagannatha Dham’ App Launched

Key Points

The app is designed to provide comprehensive real-time updates and ensure smooth pilgrim management.

Similar to the technologies used at the Kumbh Mela, Rath Yatra 2025 will see a strong integration of AI.

The App also outlines guidelines for temple visits, including the Do’s and Don’ts for pilgrims.

Puri, Jun 7: To streamline temple visits and enhance the experience for devotees and tourists, the Puri district administration has launched the ‘Shree Jagannatha Dham’ App ahead of Rath Yatra.

The app is designed to provide comprehensive real-time updates and ensure smooth pilgrim management.

One of its key features is the waiting time indicator, which informs visitors of queue durations at different temple entrances.

Similar to the technologies used at the Kumbh Mela, this year’s Rath Yatra will see a strong integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling users to navigate crowd density, route guidance, and parking availability.

Through the app, devotees can access information on temple rituals, including Mahaprasad timings, Aarti schedules, and special festivals. Additionally, it outlines guidelines for temple visits, including the Do’s and Don’ts for pilgrims.

The ‘Shree Jagannatha Dham’ App also features details on accommodations, nearby parking spots, locker services, and footwear stands. It allows users to track temple revenues, including donations made through Hundi and online platforms.

Tourists can explore Puri better with dedicated sections on local attractions, including beaches, pilgrimage sites, and heritage locations.

The app also includes specific resources for differently-abled visitors, such as information on accessible routes, lifeguards, ATMs, water stations, toilets, and lost & found centers.

According to senior temple servitors, if the app maintains accurate real-time updates, it will be a valuable tool for devotees and tourists alike, ensuring a seamless and spiritually enriching experience.
