Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: Panic gripped parts of Odisha on
Thursday after three courts in the state received anonymous bomb threat emails.
According to reports, Cuttack District Courts, along with Sambalpur, and Deogarh District Courts have received the threats.
The messages, sent to the official accounts of the courts, claimed that explosives had been planted inside the premises and demanded immediate evacuation.
Upon receiving the alerts, police control rooms were informed and bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and cybercrime units rushed to the affected courts.
Judges, lawyers, staff, and litigants were evacuated as precautionary measures, and the complexes were sealed for thorough searches.
However, no suspicious objects have been found till now. However, the incident disrupted court proceedings for several hours and created widespread anxiety among the public.

The District Collectors concerned have ordered enhanced
security measures around court complexes, including stricter entry checks and
surveillance. Cybercrime units are investigating the origin of the emails to
trace those responsible.
