Bhubaneswar, June 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that today is a historic day in Odisha as BJP is forming its first-ever government in the state.
PM Modi, who graced the swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP government in Odisha today, said this in a social media post.
"It’s a historic day in Odisha! With the blessings of my sisters and brothers of Odisha, @BJP4Odisha is forming its first-ever government in the state," the Prime Minister posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

PM Modi congratulated Mohan Charan Majhi on taking oath as Chief Minister and to Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo as well as Pravati Parida on taking oath as Deputy CMs. He also congratulated the other legislators who took oath as Ministers.
The Prime Minister said, with the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, he is confident that this team will usher in record development in Odisha and improve the lives of countless people.

✨The first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, took oath at a grand swearing-in ceremony held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar this evening.
Two Deputy Chief Ministers, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and 13 Ministers also took oath along with Chief Minister Majhi.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administered oath to Majhi and his Council Of Ministers.
PM Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, Bhupinder Yadav and several Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states, BJD supremo and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and many other dignitaries attended the swearing-in ceremony.
This is the first BJP government in Odisha after its emphatic performance in the recently concluded assembly polls, after it defeated the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), bringing an end to the latter's 24-year-old reign.
