Bhawanipatna, Feb 18: In a tragic mishap, two minor boys died after drowning in a pond in Dureshpadar village under Thuamul-Rampur police station in Kalahandi district today. 

The deceased minor boys have been identified as Asman Naik (6), son of Suresh Naik, and Santu Naik, son of Iswar Naik of Durespadar village. 

The two boys went to the village pond at around 4.40 pm but didn't return home. Later, villagers the bodies of the two boys floating in the pond. They were declared dead in a hospital. 

A pall of gloom descended on the village following the sorrowful incident.
